EMC, the world’s largest manufacturer of equipment for corporate data storage, on Monday introduced a line of computers that allows companies to quickly move large amounts of data between data centers.
EMC said its new products VPLEX serve as traffic cops to help businesses move data between offices that are up to 100 miles away.
The company hopes to improve new technology in the next two years for firms to exchange information between data centers worldwide.
That would allow businesses to quickly restore operations in case of disaster or balance the workload as the day evolves globally.
